Surrender an Animal

If you need to surrender your animal to HSDC, we will do our best to make your pet as comfortable as possible while in our care. The shelter environment can be a very stressful place but our staff and volunteers work hard to provide the care and compassion every individual animal deserves.

Humane Society of Dallas County does its best to accept animals as long as space and care is available. All surrenders are by appointment, please call the shelter directly to speak to staff about surrender. In the event we are unable to schedule a surrender appointment, below are alternate resources to check.
