Shiner is a HSDC Alumni. He was rescued by one of our volunteers from a shelter a few hours away where him and his sister were going to be euthanized as puppies. They have lived in a home for about a year, but they each need a separate home where they can flourish and learn socialization skills. Both Shiner and his sister Neches are terrified of men.
Shiner is good with cats, children, and would probably thrive in a home with a dog that can show him its more fun when you aren't scared!
A perfect home would be quiet with another dog who is confident and friendly with people. Shiner's new family would need to clearly understand his submissive fear of strangers. Shiner and his family would have to be willing to engage in proper management and start a long-term behavior modification program to help him manage his fear.
if you would like to help foster or adopt Shiner!
This animal has been lucky enough to be adopted into a loving home! Please help us find homes for the others by contributing in any of these ways.
