Max is a Basset Hound/German Shepherd mix and was rescued from a Dallas shelter where he was named "Lowrider". He is heartworm free and on preventative care and has been neutered and updated on all his vaccinations.
His current family adopted Max from a next door neighbor who could not take him when they downsized. He lives with 4 other male dogs on a 1/2 acre and loves to chase squirrels on the tree filled lot. He gets his exercise running back and forth in the yard interested in anyone walking in front of the house, and is also good on a leash. Max is an "alpha dog" and he is best suited for a family with only one other dog. He is crate trained and has not spent much time inside when not in the crate or closely watched. He does not jump on furniture in the house, but loves to jump up and sit next to you when you sit on "his outside bench" wanting to be petted and of course loves to give kisses.
Max is very friendly and loves young children and is very affectionate. He is good at the vet but does not like getting his temperature taken with a thermometer. But who can blame him! Although Max loves to sit in the shade in front of the misting fan, he gets in his dog house during the day and evening just to chill or take a nap.
