Golddust

Golden Retriever / Labrador Retriever [Mix]

Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn with White

Date of Birth: 2008

Medium • Adult • Male • Dog

DOB 2008

Golddust was born in northeastern Oklahoma. He was raised with his sister and littermate Yingyang. They lived in Oklahoma until their owner could no longer take care of them and they came to Dallas to a foster home where they now live. Golddust and Yingyang are a Lab/Golden Retriever mix. Golddust looks like a Golden Retriever and Yingyang looks more like a Lab.

Golddust is a sweetheart of a Golden Retriever look alike, is in excellent health and weighs 49 pounds. When he sees somebody he knows, he immediately goes to get petted and gives a kiss in return. It takes awhile for him to get comfortable with someone new, but soon offers his tummy for a rub. Since he has a constant companion in his sister Yingyang, he will compete for attention with her. Golddust is gentle with Yingyang and likes lots of snuggling with her, especially when they are sleeping. When they are outside, they can be found standing at the fence together looking out at the world around them. Golddust tends to be the leader of the two since he seems to have gotten the herding genes from his parents more than Yingyang.

He enjoys his inside/outside time and freedom to use the “doggie door”. He equally likes to roam the yard with Yingyang and to have people companionship inside. He is happy lying close to “his people”! He is very good with children and will let them pet him endlessly.

Because Golddust and Yingyang are twins, they walk on a leash side by side and will stay with their “person” even if no one is holding the leash. Golddust is definitely a “homebody” and has shown no inclination to stray too far. Going to the doggie park is a new experience for him, gradually gaining confidence to roam the park and interact with dogs other than Yingyang.

Golddust and Yingyang are looking to be loving and loyal companions to a new family – won’t you find it in your heart to make room for them. They are not at the shelter but in a foster home.
