Moose was found early in March 2012. He was in terrible shape and on the verge of collapse when a good samaritan leapt from her car to come to his aid. Underweight by 30 lbs, riddled with heartworms and a severely injured leg, this person took it upon herself to finance his recovery. He was relocated to a more experienced foster to work with him and prep him for his eventual adoption into a loving, caring permanent home. Sadly, the first quarter of his life must have been very unhappy ones as it seems he was tied out as he had a rope hanging around his neck when he was found that day.
Surprisingly and after everything he has been through Moose as he came to be known, opened up and we found him to be quite the goofy, playful boy. He loves to ride in the car, go to the dog park and go on long walks. At night, he enjoys simply lying on the bed with you as you watch TV or read. Despite his intimidating appearance and his ferocious bark, he is quite the marshmallow. He appears to be a blend of Bassett Hound (by his bay like bark), American Bulldog and perhaps a little Shar Pei. He has a charming personality, is good with all people including older children. He is crate trained and loves cats but it is not recommended that he be in a home one - he loves them a little too much.
Moose is in a foster home but if you are interested in meeting him, please contact us at
