Holli and Sammi were rescued from a culvert in a rural area outside of Fort Worth. Obviously abandoned and left to fend for themselves, they crawled out of the culvert and hobbled over to their foster mom with ribs and hip bones protruding, covered in flies and muck. Foster mom took them home and cleaned them up and their vet gave them a clean bill of health before the other three dogs and cat in the family were allowed to welcome them.
According to their vet, Holli and Sammi are approximately four months old and appear to be Catahoula/mix - with sturdy legs and feet. They are now healthy with beautiful bodies and gorgeous healthy feet!!! They get along with the other dogs and cat they are currently living with. They are housebroken and are working on using the doggie door – it seems scary for them but they are smart and will get the hang of it. They love to play fetch and have already mastered tug-of-war against one of the bigger dogs.
They are like two peas in a pod and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together but if that is not possible, they will adjust just fine apart from one another. If you are looking for fun companions, these girls are ideal candidates and would be a great addition to any family – they are survivors!!! Holli and her sister Sammi are not at the shelter but in their foster home. Please contact
if you would like to make arrangements to meet or ask questions about either of these special girls.
