Meet Pippin! This little dog was at a city shelter with a broken leg and was scheduled to be put to sleep if someone didn't step up to help her. Her foster mom agreed to take on Pippin and get her leg healed. Poor Pippin had to be in a crate for almost 2 months and had 2 surgeries! She's all better now and gets around as fast as any dog her size.
Pippin is unusual for her breed - she likes new people and is friendly with other dogs and strangers. Of course, she'll start out with a bark when she meets new dogs, but soon enough, she's made friends and she wants to play. She's quite treat motivated and knows how to "sit" and "stay". Pippin's favorite time of the day is meal time, she gets very excited and runs to her spot. Other pastimes for Pippin include fetching a ball, chewing on toys, and napping. She's a very good cuddler and loves to be held. She walks well on the leash too. Pippin would be fine with other dogs for sure, she currently lives with a 30 lb and 50 lb dog and sometimes spends the weekend around dogs her own size (she is 10 lbs). We are not sure how she is with cats, but think she'd be OK.
Pippin is one sweet little girl and would make a great addition to any family.
Pippin is not at the shelter but in a foster home – if you would like to make arrangements to meet her, please contact us at
