Rusty is a very lucky boy – he was rescued through the joint effort of several caring people and is now safe in a foster home.
Rusty was found wondering the parking lot of an apartment complex. He started following his rescuers when they took their dog out for a walk or a run, but always at a distance. Finally, after a week of shy following, he got brave enough to follow them to their apartment. After a short period of introduction, he allowed them to bathe him and during the time he was with them, they learned he is house trained, gets along well with other dogs, is leash trained and likes to chase balls and is quite the hand licker!! His initial rescuers could not keep him and he is now in a new foster home and doing very well.
Rusty is a great guy although he is very shy and keeps his distance from strangers – after trust is established, he becomes very friendly and loves to be petted. He has not been introduced to children but does very well around other people and dogs so there is no reason to believe he would not do well with children. He is a young dog with lots of energy so a home where he will get attention, training, lots of chew toys and plenty of exercise is a must.
Rusty is an adorable dog with a beautiful burnt orange color to his coat, weighs about 50 pounds and a strong looking body – he is a lover desperate for a family to love!! Anyone looking for a lovable dog with a great temperament will be lucky to have Rusty join their family!
