Bitty was rescued from a kill shelter where her time was up because she is suffering from demodectic mange, a non-contagious treatable skin disorder – it is not as bad as her little companion, Itty, and it is certainly no reason for her not to get a second chance.
Bitty is just that - a very small Chihuahua. She and Itty were scared at first but they have now become accustomed to the shelter and the other dogs and she feels much better now that her skin disorder is being treated. She will be the cute little dog she is supposed to be when it is completely cleared up.
Chihuahuas are generally lively, alert, proud, and make a good companions. Bitty is no different - she bounces around the shelter yard and likes to play with the other small dogs and with her companion, Itty. As a small dog, weighing less than five pounds, Bitty would do just fine in an apartment with play time taking care of her exercise needs – she needs someone willing to give her love and a safe secure home ……. and some training to help her learn the things she needs to know to be part of a loving family environment.
