Hanz's foster mom reports that this boy is housetrained, very intelligent, has tons of energy and learns and adapts quickly. He enjoys taking long walks and is a good watch dog and will alert at night if he hears strange noises. He enjoys playing with other dogs but is a little nervous around cats – he is also very friendly and likes people. A little lap dog, he loves to be held and is fond of playing with his toy bone. Hanz is also somewhat of a trick artist - he does a very good job of covering himself up with his blanket at night!!!
Hanz came to the shelter after some Dallas travelers made a stop in Oklahoma for gas and little Hanz was sitting there looking forlorn. His rescuers asked us to help the little guy. He tested positive for heartwork and had cherry eye. Hanz was treated for heartworm several months ago, has fully recovered, and is now on preventative. Also, Hanz no longer suffers from cherry eye and has recovered beautifully. This little guy is in a loving foster home and is thoroughly enjoying having fun playing with three other little dogs while he adjusts to being a Texan.
Upon adoption, Hanz’s foster mom is willing to pay for a PetSmart dog training class or two for him. Hanz is very smart and she feel his new family will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly he learns.
Hanz is not at the shelter but in foster care. If you want to see this cutie little guy you can contact us at
