This sweet little guy was found in the Bishop Arts District last weekend by DKC volunteers. They now have him in foster care while nursing him back to health. His name is Rue.
He is a sweet little pup who was dirty with matted fur full of burrs and fleas, huddled against up a house in Oak Cliff. He is a Toy Poodle estimated to be between 8-10 years old. (The photos are after grooming).
He’s been groomed and is on medication to heal his skin but he needs major dental work. He is currently on antibiotics because his mouth is badly infected and must be treated if he is to survive. The vet estimates more than $800 to get Rue ready for adoption and to resume life as the posh pooch he was meant to be.
He has obviously been someone’s pampered pet. He is housebroken and feisty, yet affectionate. He’d love to be someone’s lap dog!
Rue really needs a Guardian Angel or two to give him a second chance.
This animal has been lucky enough to be adopted into a loving home! Please help us find homes for the others by contributing in any of these ways.
