Trigger has had a rough start in life!!! He was not in a good situation - living in an empty field, starving and freezing and terrified of people - when he was rescued by his foster family. While they have grown attached to this now energetic sweet guy, they cannot keep him because of the age and health needs of another dog in the family. Trigger gets along great with other dogs, walks well on a leash, loves to play and needs a home where he will be given attention and lots of love. His foster mom says he is the fastest dog she has ever seen and feels he would make an excellent frisbee or agility dog. He weighs 50 pounds but appears smaller.
Trigger is a Lab/Pointer mix. Graceful and athletic, both breeds are intelligent, gentle, even-tempered, congenial dogs that are affectionate and loyal and are usually very good with children – a true friend to the family. They adapt well to new situations and make excellent companions.
Trigger knows several commands such as leave the room, go lay down, get back and kisses (when it fits his mood) and come (of course when it suits him). A smart, sensitive guy, willing and eager to please, he should be very easy to train. Trigger is very good when inside the house, he stays inside at night and when the family is home. He is not protective of food or toys but likes to chew so a good supply of chew bones would be nice.
As is the case far too many times, Trigger deserves a better life than the start he was given. If someone is willing to give this guy a loving home, attention and plenty of exercise they will no doubt get a faithful and devoted companion in return.
Trigger is in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you would like to meet or ask other questions about him contact
