Dancer also came from a local kill shelter. We picked her up the same day as Vixen, so of course she got a "reindeer name" also..
Dancer seems a little shy when you first meet her, but in no time flat she is looking to be held by you and looking sweetly back into your eyes.
In the car, Dancer will crawl into your lap. If you are working at the computer, she will lay at your feet. She loves to be held and get scratches around her ears. She comes when called and is so grateful to get pets on the head.
Dancer also enjoys playing with the other small dogs in the house - it can sound like a herd of pygmy elephants when they get to running up and down the halls! Note: Dancer will cry when she is put in a crate; she will stop after a while, but she does not appear to love being in the crate (this may be important if you live in an apartment). We have only seen Dancer around children around 6 years or older. If you have younger kids, it would be wise to supervise the interaction, but so far, Dancer seems very tolerant.

P.S. One of our volunteers took Dancer home for a brush and a bath, and she reported that while Dancer didn't "love" the experience, Dancer behaved herself completely during it.
This animal has been lucky enough to be adopted into a loving home! Please help us find homes for the others by contributing in any of these ways.
