Mel's in my lap right now telling me what to type:
I'm Melville and I think humans make great furniture. I'm sort of homely though, so that's probably why I've spent my whole life at the shelter. Everyone wants a pretty kitty. I have a little bit of an allergy problem so for the last few months I've been in foster care. They haven't bothered me much at all, so we think they may be seasonal. But this is the first home I've had and I like it. All I want is a lap to curl up in and a human to cuddle next to when I'm sleeping. My foster mom says I'm a good boy, full of affection and very sweet even if I do hog the bed a bit. I get along fine with other cats but I'm really lonely and depressed without a human of my own to love.
My foster mom may not be able to keep me much longer so I'll probably go back to the shelter. It's nice there but not as nice as a home of my own with a tv to watch and birdies and squirrels outside the windows to watch. I may wake you in the middle of the night to steal your pillow but I let you sleep in the morning until you're ready to feed me. I'm patient that way.
