Chaplin is a 1.5 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mix. He weighs about 75 pounds. He is a beautiful boy. Very smart, easily trainable. I do not crate him during the day, but he is crate trained/potty trained. From what little knowledge I have, since he was adopted into my family at 3-4 months of age, he seems to have been previously abused. He is very shy and cautious towards humans, never in an aggressive way. He flinches a lot at the raising of hands, he shakes. It takes someone who is loving and patient to introduce him into your home. He has never been around young children, so I’m not certain on his temperament, but it’s never been human aggressive. It takes Chaplin some time to warm up to a new person, but when he does he is the sweetest, most gentle boy I have ever met.

Chaplin needs a home with a backyard, space to run. He needs a pack leader, who will help him build confidence, and teach him that the world isn’t a scary place. Chaplin doesn’t do well with other animals, ex: dogs, cats. He needs to be the only animal in the home. Chaplin loves walks, but must be on a leash/pinch collar – your preference as he is very strong and skittish. He does well with quiet neighborhoods/areas as loud noises scare him. Again he must be on a leash and in an area where other dogs are on their leashes as well.
