A few months ago my wife and I were on our way back from an out-of-town conference. Our elderly Blue Heeler had recently passed away, and on the airport road I said, "I gotta have a dog." Elaine knew a woman who had volunteered at Dog & Kitty City so we drove directly there because we definitely wanted to adopt a shelter dog.
When we were shown the dogs, this one particular dog got my attention. They opened the gate to his kennel and he ran at me so hard he almost knocked me down. Then I sat on a bench and he climbed on it and rolled on his back. My wife and I fell in love on the spot with this wonderful two-year-old golden retriever who had been found running the streets by a shelter worker.
The home visit was completed that evening and the next morning we picked him up from the shelter, and named him Buster on the spot.
Since day one Buster has been an absolute joy in our lives. Dog & Kitty City had provided him with excellent medical care and had him neutered. Our vet certified that he was in excellent health and well cared for and well-nourished.
Buster has been through obedience school and really did well. He is mellow, great with dogs and kids, and our constant companion. They even have his picture posted at the Starbucks we go to; everyone there knows and loves Buster.
I'd like to thank Dog & Kitty City for making our adoption so wonderful. They have great dogs and cats there who need good homes and I am sure you would get a wonderful companion and do a good deed at the same time.
Buster says "Hi!"
