We adopted Gracie one month ago, so I wanted to give you an update on her progress. She is thriving in our household and is such a joy to us! We have taught her to go in and out of a doggie door (we are either looking out the window or we actually go out the door to be with her, still) and she was so easy to potty train!
Gracie went on her first "over night" with us on the 4th of July and she did great! We had a family reunion and she was able to socialize with 3 other dogs and 25 people. Of course, everyone fell in love with her! We took her yesterday to East Texas to visit some old friends who have 2 small dogs and they all had a great time. Gracie is so adaptable!
Mike and I are so attached to her and we thank God that we have the privilege to have Gracie in our life!
First update, one month ago:
We took Gracie (formerly Netta) to The Plaza of Richardson (rehab & nursing home). As soon as I saw Gracie's temperament, I knew she would be perfect for visiting in nursing homes. I called to verify that dogs would be permitted and was told YES. She acted like she had been doing this all of her life! Some of the residence of course came over and petted her, telling her how beautiful she is, and some just followed her with their eyes. The main thing is that their eyes was following this little dog!!
Then the biggest test of all happened, the fire alarm went off (they were testing the system)! Gracie stayed very calm but we felt sorry for her with the high pierce noise. They of course would not let anyone out during this test, so we covered her ears the best we could but she still remained VERY calm.
Here are the pictures of Gracie that I promised.
She is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside.
