Shawnee is a wonderful pup. She and her step brother Aldo (Waldo) are inseparable. Her name is Goldie. Keep up the great work. Huey is doing great too. He lives with our daughter in a downtown high rise but spends a lot of time here with us. He is well loved.
We are loving our Clover. She has adapted to her life with us and Guinness very well. The two of them are inseparable and love playing chase for hours. I take them on morning walks together through the neighborhood. They both wait with great anticipation when they see me go for their leashes. She had her first day last week at a dog park and loved it. She doesn't really care for car rides and gets an upset stomach so we are trying small trips to get her used to the car. Her potty training is working better. Still an occasional accident but I think a few more weeks and she should be good. She is a good eater and not too fussy. She weighs about 11 pounds. The spaying procedure went really well and she's completely healed.
The two brothers Winston and Brees, formerly known as Mercury and Mars, are both adopted and recently had a chance to meet each other. Winston's human, Wendy, had this to say about him:
We have a great big back yard that Winston loves. We have had him in training and honestly he only goes to help the other dogs...there isn't a dog he doesn't want to be pals with. We would love for him to see his sib. The workers at the shelter said he was sad when his brother left. [...] Brees is beautiful and has the same sweet face Winston has. I can’t wait to see them together!
Thank you for giving us Stella [formerly Bella]. We are having so much fun with her, and she is fitting right in. She sleeps through the night. During the day, she helps Morris in the yard...or they just nap in his chair. ;)
We named [Smurfette] Jackie and she is doing just fine. She and Scooter get along very well. She’s learned how to play with his squeaky toys, though she still prefers just to romp with him. He’s learning to romp with her. They play constantly. She absolutely loves the doggie door and large back yard. They both enjoy surprising and chasing the squirrels. We think she’s actually younger than originally thought…she still has a good bit of puppy in her. Potty training has not been an issue at all and she sleeps in her bed right beside Scooter all night. We’re still working on her about the licking/mouthing habit. She wants to lick or grab your hand in her mouth (not biting, just mouthing) any time she is getting petted or held. I think that will gradually go away as she gets older and we continue to correct it. She has put on a bit of needed weight and her coat is filled out nice and shiny. Thanks!
Dory is doing great. She just passed obedience class! She can sit, lay, walk on a leash, crawl, stay (well for about 5 seconds), and shake paws. Best of all, she is house trained (she hasn't had an accident in a couple of months). She is still chewing the house up, but her chewing things comes less often and not just all the time so I know it is only when she is teething. Just bought her a new round of nylabones hoping to deter her from the blinds.
She is great with kids, as well as other dogs. We have found a playmate for her down the street named Chance. They have play dates every couple of weeks. Things are even starting to get better with the cats. Still not 100%, but we are seeing improvement.
So glad to have her in our family. Attached is a couple of pics from recently that I just had on my phone.
Ruby is doing great. I have included some photos and a video of she and Diego wrestling. It is pretty funny and they wrestle almost everyday now. I am working out of my house again so I am here most of the day which is good for the dogs… I sampled down the video to a tiny size because of memory limitation via email. It is 3.5MB and still may not go through. Hope you all enjoy!
The movie in the background is Twister when Helen Hunt and Glen Paxton are reuniting… Total Coincidence…
